Brisbane Roar has strengthened its attacking options for the next A-League season with the signing of two-time FFA Cup winner Nikola Mileusnić.
One of the fastest players in world football, Mileusnić joins the Roar from Danish Superliga side Randers, having previously spent four seasons with Adelaide United.
After achieving his dream of playing in Europe, the exciting winger jumped at the chance to return to Australia and play under Head Coach Warren Moon.
“I’ve spoken to Warren a few times, even before I went to Denmark, and got to know not just how good of a coach he is, but how much of a great guy he is and how he really cares about his players,” Mileusnić said.
“That’s something you want going to a new club.
“I’ve always been drawn to the Roar. Brisbane is a city I’ve always travelled to, I have some family here. I love the city and the way the team plays as well.

“Looking at the system, I think it’s a great fit for me. Every game you would see players running forward on the break and you need quick players in transition. For me, fitting into that will be quite nice and I think I’ll work well with the team and players we have.”
Mileusnić once recorded an in-game top speed of 36.2km/h during his time with Adelaide, a figure that ranks above renowned speedsters like Erling Haaland and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 27-year-old has also developed a knack for winning silverware, contesting four consecutive domestic cup finals and winning the past three.
“It’s weird – the last four seasons I’ve been in a cup final. Hopefully I can bring some of that luck,” he said. “The team here just had a really good season, so I want to come in and help build on that.”
Moon said he was pleased to land Mileusnić, who scored 10 times across his two most recent A-League campaigns.
“We all know about Nikola’s pace and how dynamic and dangerous he can be in attacking areas,” Moon said.
“There’s certainly a lot more to his game than just pure speed. He has the ability to both create and score goals, as we saw in his last couple of seasons in the A-League. We’re really excited about what he will bring to the side and the playing group as a whole.”
Mileusnić becomes the Roar’s second signing of the close season, following the addition of German midfielder Matti Steinmann.
