Roar share the points with reigning Premiers after hard fought draw

Brisbane Roar will return home with a point after sharing the spoils with Auckland FC in a 1-1 draw across the ditch on Sunday afternoon.

After a strong start to the first half from both teams, James McGarry committed a foul on Lachlan Brook which gave the hosts a free kick in the 17th minute.

Brook fired the free kick into the top right corner past the fingertips of Dean Bouzanis to open the scoring at Go Media Stadium.

Just before the break, in added time, Michael Ruhs put through a picture perfect ball to find Justin Vidić in the 18-yard-box. The striker received it with composure and struck into the back of the net to equalise.

The second half remained scoreless, with an extremely close chance from Auckland FC after a free kick was taken by Francis De Vries striking the cross bar in added time.

After a hard fought draw from Brisbane Roar, their focus now shifts to Melbourne Victory back at home this Friday night. GET YOUR TICKETS!
