Brisbane Roar could welcome a new face into its matchday squad for tonight’s Liberty A-League clash with Perth Glory after completing the signing of defender Isabella Foletta.
The former Perth player joins from Italian side Lazio, having headed to Europe after chalking up seven appearances with Canberra United last season.
“I’m really happy to be here,” said Foletta, who joined up with her new team-mates at QSAC this week.
“I was looking for a change and I’m really excited to be playing here in Queensland. Everyone has been so welcoming, the staff are amazing, and the girls have been awesome.
“The quality is really good too. The girls played some really good football in the first match and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Foletta, 21, spent three months in Italy, training alongside the likes of compatriot Ella Mastrantonio and former Spain international Adriana Martin.
“It was a really good experience, I learnt a lot technically, and it was definitely a good life and footballing experience,” she said.
“Some of the teams were top quality, teams like Juventus, just an amazing Champions League team. It was great to be there.”
With the potential to debut against her hometown team, Foletta said Roar fans can expect a “tough” player in and out of possession.
“I like to bring a lot of energy, a lot of talking and I put everything out on the park,” she said.
The Roar’s Round 2 clash with Perth at Perry Park kicks off at 6:45pm tonight.
