Brisbane Roar suffered a 1-0 defeat to reigning Champions, Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Tuesday night.
Roar were put to the test in another short turnaround game following a loss to Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.
Melbourne City opened the scoring in the 11th minute with Max Caputo capitalising on a corner and heading it into the back of the net to put the hosts up 1-0.
A double substitution in the 77th minute saw 16-year-old Emmett Shaw make his A-League debut to become the third youngest debutant in the club’s history, and Mikael Evagorou-Alao also making his debut off the bench.
In a game of back-and-forth, with City creating more of the chances, the early first-half goal was ultimately enough to secure the three points at AAMI Park.
Next up, Roar return to Suncorp Stadium this Friday night to face the reigning Premiers, Auckland FC with a massive three points up for grabs in front of home support.
