Brisbane Roar have fallen short in New Zealand, after a 3-0 loss to Wellington Phoenix at Hnry Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Wellington were dominant out of the gates, with the hosts quick to put themselves on the scoreboard after Manaia Elliott striking one past Tahlia Franco in the 10th minute.
Just moments later, Emma Pijnenburg rockets a shot into the back of the net to make it 2-0 for the Phoenix.
After the break, Makala Woods turned and fired away a third goal to seal three points for Wellington.
Tameka Yallop came off the bench in the 82nd minute for some valuable minutes since overcoming her hamstring injury from Round 7.
Up next, Roar return to Spencer Park to face Newcastle Jets next Friday night.
