Brisbane Roar will welcome back attacking trio Thomas Broich, Mitch Nichols and Do Dong-Hyun into the squad for tomorrow night-s pre-season match against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.
The three players have been hampered by ankle injuries with Do and Broich not featuring in the Roar starting eleven since their opening pre-season game against Brisbane Olympic, while Nichols hasn-t taken the field since Brisbane-s AFC Champions League clash with Beijing Guoan back in May.
But returning players won-t be in for an easy night against United.
With their opponents up against Uzbekistan-s Bunyodkor their ACL quarter-final in less than two weeks, Roar Head Coach Rado Vidosic was pleased he had the ability to pit his side against a team in the midst competitive match preparations.
However, he was more concerned on his side-s focus on their own performance.
“I expect the intensity to be there for the whole 90 minutes, they need to have what if scenarios – what if we-re 1-0 done, what if we-re 2-0 up, how do we deal with our opponents?” he said.
“We just need to go and play our own game and we-ll give them a good game.
“Adelaide has always been a very good side under John Kosmina, now they move forward and try to play out from the back.
“They-re even applying pressure on opponents in their half.
“From what I-ve seen so far is that they-re moving forward in big steps so it-s going to be a good test for us.”
The match also marks the first time Vidosic will face off against his son Dario, a key part of the Reds- attack, since becoming the club-s Head Coach back in April.
“That will be Massimo-s job – so Massimo will look after him!” Vidosic said with a laugh.
“He-s very happy at the moment, he-s scoring a few goals and he-s injury free.”
Brisbane Roar lost their first Hyundai A-League pre-season match 1-0 to Newcastle Jets while last weekend, Adelaide fought hard for a 4-2 win over Sydney FC.
