Brisbane Roar trio James Donachie, Corey Brown and Kwame Yeboah have been selected in the Qantas Young Socceroos squad for a training camp on the Central Coast, beginning on Sunday.

Head Coach Paul Okon, who named 24 players from across the Hyundai A-League and National Youth League, will use the camp to prepare for the FIFA U-20 World Cup which will take place in Turkey in June this year.

The selection is just rewarded for the three Roar players, who all played a part in Brisbane-s Hyundai A-League 2012/13 campaign where they fell just one match short of defending their Championship.

Donachie played 18 games in the heart of defence, performing impressively as club captain Matt Smith missed the second half of the season with a hip injury.

Brown, the Roar-s National Youth League captain this year who also signed a senior contract with the club in January, made four first-team appearances in 2012/13.

Yeboah celebrated his recent elevation to full-time youth contract by making his senior debut in February, also making a cameo appearance off the bench in the Hyundai A-League Semi-Final against Western Sydney Wanderers last Friday.

“This is a big opportunity for me and the others to cement a spot in the squad especially coming up to the World Cup,” Brown said.

“It-s awesome for the other two, Donks [Donachie] has done really well this season and it-s been a good reward for Kwame, who-s just recently got a chance to play A-League.

“For me, it-ll be good to keep playing football even though the season is over and I want to do all I can to try and ensure I will have a spot in the squad going to Turkey.”

The squad will assemble on the Central Coast on Sunday and will be there for five days.

Australia will play in Group C at the FIFA U-20 World Cup against host nation Turkey, El Salvador and Colombia with their campaign kicking off on June 22.
