Three members of the Brisbane Roar squad that reached the Westfield W-League Semi Finals have been selected for an upcoming Women’s Talent Identification Camp.

Isobel Dalton, Winonah Heatley and Jamilla Rankin are set to join 23 other domestic-based players in Sydney for the camp, which runs from 4-7 May.

The Roar stars will go in on a high after all three started every single game during the Club’s impressive Westfield W-League campaign.

The Women’s Talen Identification Camp – the second of its kind – forms part of the national team’s preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Women’s Football Tournament as Tony Gustavsson and Melissa Andreatta work towards selecting the final 18 player squad.

“From a coaching perspective we need to concentrate on finding players that can step up to the international standard,” Andreatta said.

“On finding those players that can help assist the team in showing that attacking, entertaining, hard defending style of football that we want as our identity, and that we know helps us to win games.”

“This Talent ID camp will be an excellent opportunity for the invited players to embrace this challenge and show us they can play at a really good tempo, at speed, with match intelligence, a good presence and a hard approach to the game.

“I’m excited to see what they can do.”

In May, the Westfield Matildas were drawn in Group G of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Women’s Football Tournament alongside the United States, Sweden and New Zealand.
