Brisbane Roar is proud to announce that the partnership between the Club’s Westfield W-League set-up & Brisbane Girls Grammar School (BGGS) is set to continue.
Since 2017, our Roar Women have been granted the use of the School’s fields at Rangakarra Recreational and Environmental Centre at Fig Tree Pocket.
Brisbane Roar’s coaching staff and Westfield W-League squad members have also led mentorship and skill-building activities for BGGS students and coaches.
Brisbane Roar Westfield W-League Head Coach Jake Goodship says the partnership will provide continued benefits for all involved.
“It’s great to have the continued support of Brisbane Girls Grammar School,” Goodship said.
“The partnership allows our players to assist the Schools student’s in their development as young footballers, as well as providing another first-class facility for our squad & associated teams.”
As part of the continuing partnership, Year 8 BGGS students and Queensland Academy of Sport squad members Kajal Mistry and Alyssa Borodin will perform the coin toss and match ball presentation at Sunday’s Westfield W-League Round 13 fixture at Lions Stadium.
BGGS Principal Ms Jacinda Euler says the partnership allows girls to learn from and be challenged by professional sportswomen.
“BGGS has a proud history of pioneering the way for girls to become fine sportswomen, and this partnership is one initiative that brings girls closer to their role models,” Ms Euler said.
“The Brisbane Roar coaches and players show our students first-hand what it’s like to strive for their goals and perform to the best of their abilities.”
