Brisbane Roar has gone down 4-2 in Sunday’s Westfield W-League Round 12 clash against Perth Glory at Dorrien Gardens.
The Roar Women were forced to pay for a slow start, during which the Glory netted the game’s first three goals within the opening half-hour.
A spirited fightback with goals from Carson Pickett & Tameka Yallop wasn’t quite enough as Ayesha Norrie sealed the points for the home side in second-half stoppage time.
Pickett’s strike late in the first half opened the door back into the contest for Jake Goodship’s squad, who grew in confidence as Yallop sliced the margin to one early in the second stanza before the Roar dominated the ensuing period of play.
They were unable to make their dominance count, despite regularly calling the Glory keeper into action before the Glory reaffirmed their two-goal lead with one of the final kicks of the game.
The Roar return to Brisbane next weekend for their final home Westfield W-League game of the season, taking on Canberra United at Lions Stadium on Sunday, 23 February (4:30pm KO).
