Our Roar Women are gearing up for a competitive Westfield W-League second round contest against the Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi Stadium on Sunday afternoon (2:30pm KO QLD time).
Coming off their 1-1 draw with Perth Glory, Head Coach Mel Andreatta says her side are hungry to bring home three points.
“In terms of our performance, we were disappointed that we didn’t get all three points with the way we controlled the game and the chances we created,” Andreatta said.
“We will look to first of all expose the Wanderers in key moments of the game – Sydney FC did that well and we have a plan moving forward that can get the win.”

The defending Premiers have recovered strongly and are taking the necessary steps to prepare ahead of their first away game in hope to reciprocate their consistency from last season.
“Last season we proved that no matter where we play, we perform well and our away record was particularly good because of the processes we had in place and the consistency we had amongst our squad,” Andreatta continued.
Mel Andreatta’s Round 2 squad will have some welcome additions with young guns Annie Grove, Indiah-Paige Riley and Kaitlyn Torpey returning from international duty that will ensure there is healthy competition for places amongst the side.
“I won’t underestimate the Wanderers, I don’t think that first game for them was the benchmark and they will certainly be better this weekend than they were in Round 1,” Andreatta added.
“We have a real drive for spots and competition amongst the players. It’s still up in the air and training performance will dictate who earns a starting spot on the weekend.”
