The NWSL continued in thrilling fashion over the weekend with a number of our Roar Women involved in some enthralling encounters.
Yuki Nagasato showed her brilliance, scoring twice, including a 90th minute equaliser for Chicago Red Stars in their thrilling 4-4 draw with Portland Thorns.
Celeste Boureille celebrated her birthday across the weekend, playing 90 minutes for the Thorns in Saturday’s match.
Carson Pickett and Chioma Ubogago’s Orlando Pride went down 5-0 to North Carolina Courage in a mid-week clash. Carolina’s strong start to the season sees them sit atop the league table after four rounds of action.
Pride bounced back from their loss later that week playing out a spirited 1-1 draw against Reign FC.
Finally, Polkinghorne at the Houston Dash secured a 1-0 win over Sky Blue FC on Saturday as they climbed into third position on the NWSL ladder.
There is still plenty of action for our Roar Women here at home. The Brisbane Roar NTC girls beat Mitchelton 4-2 in their last outing, leaving the side in eighth place on the league table.
Allira Toby and Natalie Tathem at Moreton Bay sit just a point shy of top spot but are trailed closely by Abbey Lloyd’s Capalaba Bulldogs in third.
