Roar Women ready to bounce in Adelaide

Brisbane Roar will be looking to put a halt to Adelaide United’s undefeated streak against them as they battle it out this Sunday afternoon at Service FM Stadium.

If Adelaide United were to win a third consecutive game this Sunday, it will be their outright longest run against Brisbane without losing in the history of the Liberty A-League competition.

The last meeting between these two teams resulted in a 1-1 draw on January 15 at AJ Kelly Park.

In that match, her first game back at Brisbane, Indiah-Page Riley scored first for the Roar in the 4th minute after having a goal disallowed due to an offside call.

Adelaide’s Chelsea Dawber managed to score the equaliser not long after half-time to conclude the match in a draw.

Brisbane have won only one of their last four Liberty A-League Women’s matches outside Queensland and will be fighting for a more ideal outcome in Round 12.

Dawber from Adelaide has created eight big scoring chances in the 2022/23 Liberty A-League Women’s season, which is three more than any other player in the competition and five more than Brisbane’s best.

Shea Connors has made 49 take-ons in the season so far, making her the joint-most of any player in the competition, alongside Beattie Goad from Melbourne Victory.

Adelaide are without a win in six games, and Brisbane are also without a win in four. Both sides will be aiming to get a win to their name.

Heading into this round, the Roar are sitting in sixth place, behind Adelaide United in 5th.

Brisbane will be aiming to pull off a performance needed to claim back a win over Adelaide and avoid a third consecutive loss this Sunday, at 3:00pm AEST KO.
