Brisbane Roar captain Tom Aldred could return to the line-up for Sunday’s clash with Newcastle Jets at Moreton Daily Stadium.
Aldred was a late withdrawal from the midweek match against Wellington Phoenix for precautionary reasons following the warm-up, but the defender took part in training on Saturday.
Nikola Mileusnić will not be available, although the winger is close to returning to team training following a calf injury.
In further positive news, Connor Chapman continues to build fitness through team training alongside Corey Brown and Alex Parsons who were also involved in Saturday’s session.
Rahmat Akbari has returned in good condition after spending close to two weeks in Turkey with the Afghanistan national team, while goalkeeper Jordan Holmes is eligible for selection again following his one-match suspension.
