Brisbane Roar are proud to announce that James McGarry has been selected in the All-Whites Men’s National Team for the upcoming September international window.
McGarry will join the All-Whites for two international friendlies against the Subway Socceroos from September 5 in Canberra until September 9 in Auckland.
The 27-year-old defender who signed for the Roar in June from Scottish outfit, Aberdeen FC, has been settling into Brisbane and working hard ahead of the 25/26 season.
Speaking on his time since joining the Roar, McGarry said “It’s been a great start at the Roar so far. The environment at the club is first class and the pre-season fixtures we’ve been playing have allowed us to gel as a team ahead of the new season.
“Michael and the coaching staff have allowed me to continue playing my best football in Brisbane and as a result of this am honored to get the call-up to represent New Zealand next month.”
Head Coach, Michael Valkanis said: “The club and I are delighted for James.”
“James has been working hard this pre-season and is such a great addition to our squad. We are very proud of him to have the opportunity to represent his country next month.
“He is very deserving of this call-up, and the experience will be extremely beneficial ahead of the new season.”
