Brisbane Roar and Macedonia striker Mensur Kurtishi have agreed to part ways.

The decision today comes after the 28-year-old struggled to command a first team place in the Roar’s starting line-up in recent weeks.

He has not played since being substituted at half-time in the Roar’s Hyundai A-League match against Western Sydney Wanderers on December 3.

Kurtishi joined the club at the beginning of the season. He has scored one goal in nine appearances.

Roar’s Director of Football Ken Stead wished Kurtishi well in the next stage of his footballing career.

He said the club was close to announcing new signings after considering a range of options involving Australian and overseas-based players.

“We have a very busy second half of the season with Asian Champions League matches added to our normal program and we need to have strong competition for places right across the park,’’ Stead said.
