Should Brisbane Roar manage to keep Western Sydney Wanderers scoreless at Parramatta Stadium on Sunday afternoon, goalkeeper Michael Theo will record the 50th clean sheet of his decorated Hyundai A-League career.

Since the competition-s inception season in 2005/06 only two other goalkeepers have achieved the feat, Danny Vukovic (Central Coast, Wellington Phoenix, Perth Glory) with 50 and Melbourne Heart and former Sydney FC shotstopper Clint Bolton with 51 clean sheets to his name.

“It was a surprise to me, I wasn-t sure too sure about it,” he said.

“It-s a great little milestone if I get there, hopefully we can get there this weekend.”

In 143 Hyundai A-League appearances, Theo has also collected four Championship medals, three Goalkeeper of the Year gongs and two Premierships throughout his time at both Brisbane Roar and former club Melbourne Victory.

Sitting seventh on the competition ladder, Brisbane-s defence has had a tougher start to the 2012/13 campaign than in previous seasons, meaning Theo has been called into action more times than he-s been used to.

“If you look at the saves column over last year and the year before, I probably didn-t have that many saves to make but when I did, they were important ones,” he said.

“This year, I-m in the top three or four so it has been a little different but from my point of view, I enjoy it.

“The more work I get to do the better for myself but in saying that, when the ball is at the other end I don-t mind that either.”

Two of Theo-s most important saves came in the 2011 Hyundai A-League Grand Final when he denied Central Coast Mariners- Daniel McBreen and Pedj Bojic, sending Brisbane on their way to their first ever Championship trophy.
