Brisbane Roar Football Club is saddened to learn of the death of long-time and loyal member and fan, Neil Thomas.
Neil, 33, was a foundation member and a proud and devoted contributor to the club’s fan base in The Den.
Neil was a home-game regular and often a travelling supporter. He worked tirelessly and enthusiastically in the production of many of The Den’s banners and signs.
He was instrumental in the match-day unfurling of the “Beware The Wounded Beast” banner at the club’s last home game on 18 October.
Neil was also the driving force behind the Jamie Young Appreciation Society and was a staunch and vocal fan of the Roar goalkeeper.
In recognition of Neil’s support for Brisbane Roar FC, patrons at Suncorp Stadium will be invited to join an extended applause prior to kick off of Saturday’s Hyundai A-League Round 4 match against Adelaide United FC.
A tribute banner will be unfurled in Neil’s honour.
On behalf of players, coaches, staff, members and fans, Brisbane Roar FC extends our deepest condolences to Neil’s family and his partner Nina. Funeral arrangements as per family notice.
