Our Roar Women are heading into Sunday’s blockbuster semi-final against Sydney FC at Dolphin Stadium full of belief according to young-gun Indiah-Paige Riley.

Following a breakout campaign, Brisbane’s 17-year-old attacker is looking to play an important role for Mel Andreatta’s side in Sunday’s semi-final.

The local youngster, and a member of the 2018 NPLW Championship winning BRFC/NTC squad, can’t wait to get out onto Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium in front of strong home support.

“It’s really good, very humbling. Growing up around here I didn’t expect to be where I am now, I’m very grateful to have this opportunity,” Riley said.

“It’s such a big game, there is a lot riding on it. Once I get out there and get a few touches on the ball it will just be like any other game, the nerves will go away and I’ll be able to play.”

The Roar are looking to build on what was an impressive last outing at Dolphin Stadium back in Round 8 against the Wanderers with a similar performance in Sunday’s semi-final.

The Roar ran out 3-1 victors that day & know a similar result will earn them a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final against the winner of Sunday’s earlier final between Melbourne Victory & Perth Glory.

Riley, who scored on her 17th birthday in the side’s last visit to Dolphin Stadium, is expecting a tough test from the Sky Blues.

”It’s going to be a really even match up, they’ve got really strong forwards but we’ve obviously got a really strong backline. The last couple of games didn’t go our way but it’s a new week and it’ll be an exciting game,” Riley continued.

“It’s pretty special place. When I was last here I scored my first goal so hopefully I can get another one.”
