The National Premier Leagues Queensland enters Round 17 this week as the Young Roar look to take advantage of a month-long series of home games.

Our Young Roar enjoyed a weekend off last week but return ready to face Sunshine Coast FC at Logan Metro Sports Complex on Sunday Night (6:30pm KO).

Young Roar defender Aaron Reardon, who is currently training alongside the Roarā€™s Hyundai A-League squad, says the first week of pre-season has been a big confidence booster for himself and his NPL QLD teammates.

ā€œItā€™s always good to be around the group of older lads, getting some fitness in the legs this early on is always helpful and keeps us pumped up for the NPL season,ā€ Reardon said.

Reardon is one of many Young Roar players who were invited to complete pre-season training with the first team, which he attributes to the clubā€™s commitment to youth players.

ā€œI think pre-season is great for the boys and for the club, the younger players coming through the ranks are important and since we all are coming through together and spend most of our time together we can grow in confidence as a unit,ā€ Reardon continued.

ā€œThe mood around camp this week has been really intense and positive which is always a sign weā€™re moving forward, which for our group of young guys is really helpful.ā€

As we enter the final ten rounds of the NPL season for 2018, Reardon says the Young Roar must back their abilities to produce results.

ā€œI am hopeful we can come out of this weekend with the three points, itā€™s a crucial time of the season and we need to put some good results together in June while we have a run of home games,ā€ Reardon added.

ā€œHome games always feel like a big advantage for us, especially coming back to Logan where we train, the lads will definitely be up for it.ā€
