Young Roar ready for Redlands test

Our Young Roar will be looking secure a third win on the bounce when they host Redlands United at Logan Football Complex on Wednesday night.

The Young Roar come into Wednesday’s clash in good form having collected victories against Magpies Crusaders and Western Pride in their last two outings.

Eleventh-placed Redlands sit four points shy of the Young Roar on the league table after 15 rounds. The sides have already met once this season with the Roar running out 4-1 winners over Redlands at Cleveland Showgrounds in Round 3.

Head Coach Jake Goodship says the mid-week encounter is another terrific chance for his side to continue building momentum & developing together.

Young Roar

“It’s another fantastic opportunity for our players to showcase what they’re about and build upon our previous performance in the last six or seven weeks where we’ve seen a steady progression each game,” Goodship said.

“Nothing changes for us, it’s another game, another opportunity for us to play against another good club and we go from there.”

Wednesday’s match marks the start of a busy week for Young Roar with the side also set to welcome Sunshine Coast FC to Logan Football Complex on Sunday.

Goodship says the positivity within the group combined with their strength in depth leaves his side in good stead for the week ahead.

Young Roar

“We’ve had a good environment, the players have been positive in their mannerisms and how they’ve gone about their day-to-day business and the way they’re training,” Goodship said.

“For us in terms of our mindset, nothing changes, we’re going out again to win every game like we do and focus on what we do well rather than focus on the opposition.

“We’ve been really happy with the young boys and the opportunities for them are coming up thick and fast and there’s only going to be more to come for them.”

Wednesday’s match will be live streamed on the Football Queensland YouTube page.
