This Saturday night the Young Roar take on Brisbane Strikers in a mouth-watering PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Queensland home clash at the AJ Kelly Park, Kippa Ring. Kick-off 7:15pm.

After coming up against league leaders Gold Coast City FC in Round 8, the Roar face another challenging hit-out against a Strikers side in good form on Saturday evening.

Head Coach James Robinson will be looking for continued improvement from his young squad heading into the halfway point of the 2017 season.

“We are looking forward to the challenge of taking on one of the top teams in this year’s competition,” Robinson said.

“To be back at our home ground on Saturday night is something we are all looking forward to.”

The Young Roar currently sit 9th on the NPL ladder after eight games with three wins, one draw, and four defeats.

This weekend’s fixture against the Strikers will be another opportunity for in-form attacker Nathan Yoon, who currently sits in the top ten goal-scorers to build upon his six-goal tally.

A number of Young Roar members were given opportunities during the Club’s jam-packed AFC Champions League and Hyundai A-League campaigns, but attention now quickly turns back to the PS4 NPL QLD 2017 season.

Although Head Coach James Robinson acknowledged the importance of celebrating the progress many individuals had made over the previous months, it is now paramount that the squad focus on continued improvement week in & week out.

“It’s important that no matter what level we are playing at that these non-negotiables are evident.”

“With the Hyundai A-League and AFC Champions League campaigns completed for 2016/17, the focus for all the Young Roar players now is on working hard and taking their game to the next level,” Robinson added.
