Brisbane Roar will be hungry for three points as they head South to face Adelaide United at a double header at Coopers Stadium in Round 6 of the Ninja A-League Women.
After a disappointing loss at home last round, Roar will be raring to go for this double header and looking for nothing less than three points to return to the winner’s circle.
WHAT WAS SAID
Head Coach, Alex Smith is positive about his side’s return from the bye and international duty as he looks for a big three points against a gritty Adelaide side.
“No games for two weekends is something different that we haven’t faced in previous years,” Smith said.
“It’s been a good opportunity to break down into different units and work on some specific things that we needed to improve.”
“They’re coming off a good year that they had last year and much of the team stayed the same. They’ve had a decent start to the season as well.
“I’m confident that if we put our best performance in that we won’t have any problems and we’ll be coming home with three points.”

LAST TIME WE MET
In their last meeting, Adelaide United came out on top in a 3-1 win at Marden Sports Complex in Round 20 of the 24/25 Ninja A-League Women.
After a scoreless first half, Mariel Hecher capitalised on a defensive error and opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a powerful strike into goal.
Adelaide substitute Fiona Worts made an instant impact of the bench after equalising in the 64th minute to make the scoreline even once again.
Worts found her second of the afternoon with a spectacular half-volley in the 86th minute that was too difficult for Keeley Richards to get a hand to.
Deborah-Anne de la Harpe made a foul in the box to give away a penalty for the hosts to seal the three points after Chelsie Dawber converted the kick in the 90th minute.
