Zadkovich Looks to Grab ‘Great Opportunity’ With Both Hands

Brisbane Roar boss, Ruben Zadkovich says that Saturday’s Isuzu UTE A-League Round 21 clash against Macarthur at Ballymore Stadium is a great opportunity for his side to push their case for a top six finish.

Brisbane are back at Ballymore Stadium looking to build on a four match unbeaten run at home against fourth placed Macarthur as they try to chase a top six position.

Brisbane currently sit in eighth place on 26 points but can move within three points of fourth place Macarthur with a win on Saturday.

The Bulls, who aim to reach the finals for the second time in their history look to bounce back this weekend after suffering a 3-0 defeat against league leaders, Central Coast Mariners last Sunday.

When asked about his thoughts on Saturday’s match against Macarthur, Zadkovich said that the game is an opportunity to showcase what Brisbane Roar are capable of.

“Just a great opportunity, Macarthur are a very tricky side, they’re up the ladder for a reason, they have some key individuals and some really good attacking threats, but we believe there is some areas we can exploit.”

“We want to continue to build and keep playing football that is definitely on the improve, what we’d like to get now is three points in front of the home fans, Zadkovich said.

Zadkovich added that the four-game unbeaten home record can be largely credited to the Brisbane supporters.

“I believe that the Queensland fans and the Brisbane Roar fans are some of the best in the country and it is really important that the football that we play excites them and gets them out of their chairs.”

“It’s almost like they’re there with the players at ground level, so the crowd plays a big part and if we can fill that stadium at Ballymore we can really get on the front foot and get them up and about, then they become our extra man,” Zadkovich said.

Saturday’s match at Ballymore Stadium kicks off at 3:00pm and will be broadcast live on Paramount+.
