Biography
Versatile defender, Antonee Burke-Gilroy who can also operate across midfield will play his third A-League season in Brisbane in 2024/25.
The 26-year-old started his Australian career at Newcastle Jets, where he starred for their NPL side across two seasons.
This earned him a loan move to Portuguese side Académica B, where he featured 7 times. Antonee remained abroad, this time in the United Stated with USL Championship side Tacoma Defiance, where he made 55 appearances.
Burke-Gilroy returned to Australia, with short stints at Altona Magic and Brisbane Roar before settling in at Perth Glory, making 34 appearances across two seasons.
Antonee returned for a second stint in Brisbane during the early stages of the 2023/24 season and went on to play 17 matches for the side that season. The defender surparsed the 50 games mark in the competition whilst establishing him as an important part of the back four and earning a one year contract extension.
