Connor Chapman and Anton Mlinaric depart Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar wishes to announce the departure of defenders Connor Chapman and Anton Mlinaric.

Chapman, 28, joined Brisbane Roar in the middle of the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League season, from FC Seoul, where he would go on to make 18 competitive appearances in all competitions for the club including helping Brisbane to its first Australia Cup Semi Final in the club’s history.

Former Australian U23 International, Chapman departs the club with fond memories and wishes the club all the best for the remainder of the season.

“The lads are probably the best [group] of lads I’ve played with in the A-League and working under Warren Moon and the coaches and the staff, I really appreciate all the time and effort they’ve put into me,” Chapman said.

“It’s just time now for me to take up another opportunity. I hope and wish all the best to Brisbane and its fans and thank them for their support.”

Meanwhile fellow defender, 20-year-old Anton Mlinaric also departs the club. Mlinaric joined the club at the start of the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League season, making 13 appearances across all competitions.

Moving to Brisbane at the start of the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League season from Sydney FC on a scholarship contract, Mlinaric signed his first full time professional contract with Brisbane.

“I’ve enjoyed my time with Brisbane Roar. I’ve played in some big games and gained a lot of experience from those games,” Mlinaric said.

“As a young defender you’re going to make mistakes and learn a lot which I have done. It’s been great to play in front of the Brisbane Roar fans.”

“I’ve always had a lot of support from everyone at the club, and I wish Brisbane Roar all the best.”

Brisbane Roar wishes both Connor and Anton all the best for their future endeavours.
