New Farm Park again played host to the annual Brisbane Roar Season Launch on Saturday morning. It was the second consecutive year at the venue and was once again a fine occasion for all.
The Roar-s Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League sides were all presented with their jerseys in front of hundreds of supporters.
Following the presentation, the players from all sides signed autographs and posed for photos, much to the delight of the younger Roar fans.
Aside from meeting their heroes, the kids were entertained by the popular Pauls Roar Active playing fields, jumping castles, and of course the team mascots Roary and Rosie.
Long time Roar fan Anton Glavas was pleased with the day-s proceedings.
“Bringing the kids here is great,” Mr Glavas said.
“My son has got a few autographs but he knows all the players anyway – he-s loving it.
“I-ve been following the Roar since their inception, but this is the first time that I have gone and bought season passes and it has been really good so far”.
Speaking in front of the crowd, Roar Captain Matt Smith said the squad is buzzing ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season.
“The club has made some great signings in the off-season,” Smith said.
“And we have that buzz and desire, which is great”.
“We are very excited and very much looking forward to next weekend.”
Brisbane Roar would like to thank all members, supporters, corporate partners, sponsors and volunteers who helped contribute to an outstanding day.
