Brisbane Roar host Melbourne Victory at Gioca Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Johnathan Clemente coming up against the club where he spent four seasons as assistant to Jeff Hopkins.
The Roar are still searching for their first points of the 2026/27 Ninja A-League Women season after a 1-0 loss to Sydney FC at Gioca Stadium last Saturday, with Faith Webber’s 66th-minute goal the difference. The performance was a clear step forward at the back after the Roar conceded seven goals across the opening two rounds. Chloe Lincoln returned in goal and Brisbane local Lily Punch made an impact off the bench.
Victory arrive unbeaten. Hopkins’ side opened with a 1-0 win away to Western Sydney Wanderers, drew 1-1 with Wellington Phoenix, and beat Newcastle Jets 1-0 in their home opener at AAMI Park last Sunday, thanks to Sienna Saveska’s first goal for the club.
It is also a reunion for Roar midfielder Rosie Curtis, who faces her former club for the first time.
