Alex Parsons returns to Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar is pleased to announce the return of Queensland young gun, Alex Parsons to the club.

An Academy graduate of the Brisbane Roar, Parsons made his professional debut with the club in the 2020/21 season before going on to make 36 appearances in the Isuzu UTE A-League with Brisbane and later Sydney FC in 2022/23.

In his time at Brisbane Roar, the left-sided attacker from Ipswich made 28 appearances contributing 5 goals across two seasons before making a stint with Sydney FC last season, notching up 8 appearances and 1 goal.

Returning to Brisbane, 23-year-old Parsons will be looking forward to kicking things off where he left them and contribute more to his tally.

“It’s exciting to be back home, it’s a new challenge and working under Ross and going into a new chapter at Brisbane Roar it’s exciting,” Parsons said.

“Being back in Brisbane and being able to play in front of my friends and family it’s always exciting, hopefully I can kick on now and contribute more for the club.”

The versatile attacker is focused on making an impact in his return to Brisbane and is ready to work hard in pre-season to impress new coach Ross Aloisi.

“I’m ready to get to work, ready to push myself this pre-season and really make an impact this season.”

“I think I can cover anywhere in the front third, whether it’s wide or in the middle, I don’t have a preference, it’s just wherever Ross wants to put me,” Parsons added.

Head Coach Ross Aloisi is excited to be welcoming Parsons back to Brisbane and believes he has plenty of quality to contribute to the squad.

“The club’s aim is to have as many Queenslanders in the A-League squad as possible, players that are at a very good A-League level,” Aloisi said.

“It’s amazing to have Alex back. He’s a player that has come through the club’s Academy. He’s a very direct player and will bring a lot of pace into the squad and we look forward to working with him again,” Aloisi added.

Parsons will commence training with the squad from Monday.
