ALW R10 Match Preview: Brisbane Roar v Canberra United

Brisbane Roar return to home soil this Saturday with a clash against Canberra United in Round 10 of the Ninja A-League.

Back at Perry Park, Roar will look to continue their incredible form and will look for their fourth consecutive win at the venue.

Brisbane are winless against Canberra United in their last eight meetings, and the visitors will no doubt be determined to put a stop to Brisbane’s red-hot run now.

WHAT WAS SAID

After scoring her first ever Ninja A-League goal against Western United last weekend, Leia Varley is determined to continue Roar’s winning form at Perry Park this Saturday.

“The goal personally really represents my stage in my career right now, consistent minutes in an environment that I’m really thriving,” Varley said.

“We want to keep a clean sheet and keep this winning form at home. It’s always nice to play at our Perry Park and the fans are amazing,” Varley added.

LAST TIME WE MET

In Round 1 of the Ninja A-League season, Brisbane suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of Canberra at McKellar Park.

A debut goal from Evdokia Popadniova and a free-kick strike from Deborah-Anne de la Harpe weren’t enough after Mary Stanic-Floody opened the scoring and Maja Markovski’s brace followed to secure three points for the hosts.
