ALW R10 Match Wrap: Brisbane Roar 1-2 Canberra United

Brisbane Roar suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Canberra United at Perry Park on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half with chances from both sides, Laini Freier opened the scoring in the 73rd minute after putting away a cut-back into the box ball from Tameka Yallop.

Just minutes later, Emma Robert equalised for Canberra United to make the score level at 1-1.

Canberra Captain Michelle Heyman put her name on the scoresheet in the 80th minute after capitalising on a Brisbane defensive error and finding the back of the net to snatch three points.

Emily Pringle made one last effort for Brisbane after striking the goal but hitting the post in the 86th minute.

Up next, Brisbane face Melbourne Victory at home in a weekday fixture next Wednesday night in hopes of returning to winning ways.
