ALW R13 Match Wrap: Perth Glory 3-2 Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar went down 3-2 to Perth Glory at Sam Kerr Football Centre on Sunday night in Round 13 of the Ninja A-League.

The first half ended in a four-goal frenzy that saw plenty of chances from both sides in the West.

Captain Tameka Yallop opened the scoring in style with a magnificent back-heel in the fifth minute.

Perth Glory responded in the 29th minute, with Caitlin Douglas equalising after slotting a shot to the bottom right corner out of Olivia Sekany’s reach.

Roar were quick on the counter, with 17-year-old Grace Kuilamu putting her name on the scoresheet in the 31st minute with a shot from the angle that broke past Perth goalkeeper Casey Dumont.

Moments later, Glory’s Douglas scored her second at Sam Kerr Football Centre, pinching the ball from Olivia Sekany after she was slow to release it.

The first half ended 2-2 before a mostly scoreless second half before it became eventful in added time when Holly McQueen was shown a straight red card for a foul on Abdul Massih. This will see the defender miss the upcoming match against Wellington Phoenix next Sunday.

A free kick was given on the edge of the 18-yard-box for Massih to score her debut A-League goal in the 93rd minute and claim the 3-2 victory for the home side.

Roar have now lost three consecutive matches and will look to bounce back to winning ways when they return to Perry Park next Sunday.
