ALW R14 Match Wrap: Western Sydney 1-3 Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar secured a massive three points on the road against fourth-placed Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi Stadium on Saturday evening.

Kijah Stephenson opened the scoring with her second of the season in the 11th minute after receiving a stellar through ball from Matilda Tameka Yallop to put the Roar 1-0 up.

It was the 39th minute when Western Sydney struck back with a goal from Holly Caspers to equalise.

After the second half got underway, Tameka Yallop cleaned up an attempt from Sharn Freier to make it 2-1.

Striker Mia Corbin turned and finished a corner put in by Captain Eash Norrie to extend Roar’s lead in the 52ndminute.

The dominant win away from home will assist in filling Head Coach Alex Smith’s side with confidence ahead of their clash back in Brisbane against Melbourne Victory next week.
