ALW R14 Match Wrap: Western Sydney 1-3 Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar secured a massive three points on the road against fourth-placed Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi Stadium on Saturday evening.

Kijah Stephenson opened the scoring with her second of the season in the 11th minute after receiving a stellar through ball from Matilda Tameka Yallop to put the Roar 1-0 up.

It was the 39th minute when Western Sydney struck back with a goal from Holly Caspers to equalise.

After the second half got underway, Tameka Yallop cleaned up an attempt from Sharn Freier to make it 2-1.

Striker Mia Corbin turned and finished a corner put in by Captain Eash Norrie to extend Roarā€™s lead in the 52ndminute.

The dominant win away from home will assist in filling Head Coach Alex Smithā€™s side with confidence ahead of their clash back in Brisbane against Melbourne Victory next week.Ā
