Brisbane Roar suffered a devastating 3-0 loss to Newcastle at Maitland Sports Ground on Saturday evening.
After a scoreless 30 minutes, the hosts opened the scoring in the 40th minute with Sarina Bolden scoring her first of the night with a header off a corner set piece.
The most promising chance for Roar was in the 54th minute when Captain Eash Norrie used a free kick to have a flying shot at goal that just hovered over the bar.
The 77th minute saw Bolden double her score tally, with just moments later securing a hat trick for her side to see the match conclude 3-0 in Newcastle.
With the international break approaching next week, Roar will look to utilise this period to prepare for their Round 18 clash where they will host Melbourne City on home soil.
