ALW R20 Match Wrap: Adelaide United 1-2 Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar secured a crucial three points against Adelaide United at Marden Sports Complex to keep their finals hopes alive with a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Deborah-Anne De La Harpe opened the scoring in the 9th minute after getting the best of Adelaide defence and tucking it away to the bottom left corner.

A chance for Roar went begging after a cross by De La Harpe created a scramble in front of goal, but no players were able to get a shot off.

Mid-way through the first half, Chelsie Dawber found her way around Roar goalkeeper Keeley Richards to place the ball into goals for the hosts to make it 1-1.

Superstar midfielder Tameka Yallop returned our lead in the 74th minute after getting on the end of a through ball by Mia Corbin and beating goalkeeper Claudia Jenkins to tuck the ball away into the back of the net.

Roar’s finals hopes are still alive and they will look to capitalise on their remaining two home games to secure their spot in the top six.

They face Perth Glory at Perry Park next Sunday 24 March in front of home support determined for another three points.  Grab your tickets HERE.
