ALW R21 Match Wrap: Brisbane Roar 2-0 Perth Glory

Brisbane Roar were victorious over Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon, putting on a 2-0 winning performance in front of home support at Perry Park for the second-last time this season.

Moments into the game, Deborah-Anne De La Harpe had a long-range shot from the angle that was saved by just the fingertips of Perth goalkeeper Morgan Aquino.

Mia Corbin had a great shot from range in the 20th minute that was heading into the back of the net but was chased down by Perth defence to stop the ball in its tracks.

It was a highly composed Kijah Stephenson who opened the scoring with a stellar chip over Aquino in the 33rdminute.

Sharn Freier followed suit in the 43rd minute, putting the ball away at the near post to extend Roar’s lead just before half-time.

A scoreless second half was had, but Roar had done enough to secure three points at home to make it back-to-back wins after their victory in Adelaide in Round 20.

Roar will look to make it three wins on the bounce in their final fixture of the 2023/24 Liberty A-League season next Saturday against Canberra United.
