ALW R22 Match Wrap: Brisbane Roar 4-4 Western Sydney Wanderers

Brisbane Roar have shared the points with Western Sydney Wanderers after a 4-4 thriller at Perry Park on Sunday afternoon.

Captain Tameka Yallop opened the scoring in the 16th minute after Emily Pringle put through a crisp pass into the box for her to find the back of the net.

Roar extended their lead in the 29th minute after Alicia Woods found a touch for Tameka Yallop to put her second of the day away.

Western Sydney fought back in the 38th minute, with Bronte Trew charging towards Keeley Richards to find the opening on an angle and make it 2-1 before the break.

Both Laini Freier and Shamiran Khamis were shown red cards and will see Freier miss Roar’s final match of the season against Melbourne Victory next weekend.

Momo Hayashi scored yet another spectacular strike after lobbing the ball up for a volley to extend Roar’s lead in the 68th minute.

Moments later, the visitors scored their second of the afternoon after a corner ball found Holly Caspers in front of goal, before Madison McComasky equalised in the 85th minute to make it 3-3.

Less than a minute later, Yallop secured an exciting hat trick with a header on a wonderful ball put through by Zara Kruger.

Sophie Harding caused an upset with an equaliser in added time to share the points at Perry Park.
