Brisbane Roar congratulates Andrew Parkes on Gold Coast United appointment

Brisbane Roar FC wishes to congratulate Mr Andrew Parkes on his recent appointment as Chair of Gold Coast United.

Roar CEO David Pourre recently met with Mr Parkes to congratulate him on his election to the position and discuss the potential for collaboration on a range of programs and opportunities.

Mr Parkes was integral to the introduction of futsal to the BRFC Academy and is continuing to assist the club with the development of tournaments designed to promote young Australian footballers.

“We have a great working relationship with Andrew and congratulate him on this new role,” Mr Pourre said.

“Brisbane Roar believes strongly in developing and promoting Queensland talent from all corners of this great state of ours.

“Through Andrew’s custodianship, we look forward to seeing young Gold Coast United players come through and earn opportunities with the BRFC Academy with a view to representing the Roar at the top level.

“Gold Coast United is a leading developer of young talent at NPL level and it’s one which clearly invests in and supports female footballers.

“We have seen players like Jessie Rasschaert and our team captain Ayesha Norrie step back into the Liberty A-League competition after having success with Gold Coast United and we look forward to that pathway becoming stronger across the board.”
