Brisbane Roar look for two wins on the bounce against Gold Coast Knights

Brisbane Roar’s NPL side take on Gold Coast Knights this Friday night at A.J. Kelly Park looking for another win to follow their 4-0 victory over Rochedale Rovers last week.

Roar sit seventh on the ladder and will be out for points against first-placed Gold Coast Knights.

Brisbane Roar will aim to maintain momentum going into this match-up to clock up some wins and head into the back of the season strong.

Head Coach Owen Baker has set a challenge to his squad to continue winning form against a side like the Knights.

“Consistency seems to be one of the hardest challenges in football, especially with Youth players. The challenge I have set to the team this week is to duplicate their effort and performance level from last week’s game,” Baker said.

“Gold Coast Knights have put themselves in a great position to win the league, so for our own development and benefit, it will be great to see if we can replicate that kind of performance against the best team in the league,” he added.

Baker is aware that Knights will present a different game than last week and looks forward to seeing what his squad can do on Friday night.

“I’m sure the boys will have gained some confidence from that performance, but the reality is no two games are the same. We need to remember what worked for us and how we approached the game but respect it’s a different game and know Knights will throw a different challenge to us,” he said.

“I’m excited to see us attack this game with no fear and see what can happen on the night.”

KO is 8:30pm at A.J. Kelly Park.
