Brisbane Roar mourn the passing of Masato Kudo

Brisbane Roar would like to extend its condolences to the family and friends of Masato Kudo, who has sadly passed away.

Kudo, a former Japanese national team member, joined the Roar for the 2020-21 Isuzu UTE A-League season where he made 14 appearances.

“I like everyone else at Brisbane Roar I am deeply saddened by the news overnight that our former teammate, player and friend Masato Kudo has passed away,” said A-League Men’s Head Coach Warren Moon.

“He had such a wonderful personality and always turned up to training every morning with a beaming smile on his face.

“He will be greatly missed, and our hearts go out to his wife and young daughter at this sad time.”

In between his time in Australia, Kudo also played for Kashiwa Reysol and Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the J1 League, as well as for the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada.

Our thoughts are with Kudo’s family and friends as well as the Tegebajaro Miyazaki Football Club, its supporters and the wider community at this difficult time.
