Brisbane Roar under Ross Aloisi will kick off its pre-season matches with a training match against Brisbane Strikers FC in a friendly match on Monday July 17 at Underwood Park, 7pm KO.
The match also acting as a fundraiser for former BRFC player Izaack Powell, with the club taking donations at entry to go towards Izaack’s recovery fund for his battle against leukemia.
Head Coach Ross Aloisi is looking forward to his squad’s first game together and for some of the NPL talent to get an opportunity to play alongside the senior team.
“The first hit-out with the team, most players will be playing 30 minutes, the players that have missed out on training, probably won’t play,” Aloisi said.
“Quite a few of those players may be youth team players as well,” he added.
Aloisi believes it is a great chance for the NPL players to showcase their skills and push for promotion in the A-League setup.
“It’s a great opportunity for them to impress and try and gain a contract or a scholarship with the A-League Men’s team,” he said.
