BRISBANE ROAR SIGN GERMAN ATTACKER MARKO ILIC

Brisbane Roar Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of German attacker Marko Ilic on a 2-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s season.

The 27-year-old winger arrives at the Roar following a positive spell in Germany’s 3. Liga with TSV Havelse, where he established himself as a regular contributor and caught the eye with his movement, work rate, and left-sided threat in and around the box.

Ilic was a near ever-present for Havelse across the 2025/26 campaign, featuring in all 38 league fixtures and logging more than 2,400 minutes in one of Europe’s most physically demanding competitions. He returned six goals and five assists from the left side, a direct goal contribution, and a marker of the discipline and consistency he brings to orange.

Ilic, who came through the German football pathway with stops at HSC Hannover and FC Germania Egestorf-Langreder, brings a sharp attacking edge and a hunger that Sporting Director James Gow believes is a strong fit for the squad being built.

“Marko is exactly the kind of attacker we’ve been targeting. He is direct, hard-working, and constantly looking to hurt teams in the final third,” Gow said. “He’s developed in a competitive German environment and is ready to bring that intensity to the A-League. We’re thrilled to have Marko in orange.”

A left-sided forward who thrives running at defenders and arriving in the box, Ilic adds pace, end product and tactical flexibility to the Roar’s attacking options. His ability to play across the front line and his appetite for the defensive side of the game make him a natural fit for the standards being set ahead of the new season.

Ilic is expected to link up with the squad ahead of pre-season and will wear the number 11 shirt.

Welcome to Brisbane, Marko.
