Brisbane Roar signs promising young striker Georgia Beaumont for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League Season

Ahead of the upcoming Liberty A-League season, Brisbane Roar are excited to have secured the services of promising young Queenslander Georgia Beaumont to bolster their attacking stocks.

The 19-year-old, currently playing with Moreton Bay United in the NPL Queensland competition, spoke of her excitement to join the Roar for the coming campaign.

“I think it’s super exciting having been around the around the club for a few years and I’m looking forward to starting my career with the club, which is very exciting for me,” Beaumont said.

“Signing with the Roar was a no brainer, having worked with Garrath a lot in the Future Matildas program it’s great to carry on with that support from him here.”

A Moreton Bay and Mitchelton FC junior, Beaumont was recruited for the QAS program and was a member of the NPL squad in 2019 and 2020, scoring 11 goals in the senior league.

Upon her return to Moreton Bay for the 2021 NPL season, Beaumont flourished under coach David Da Silva, scoring an impressive 25 goals across the league and cup.

“I stepped into Moreton Bay when I was about 13 and they have been really supportive, always giving me a place to play, they’ve always been welcoming.”

“David was awesome to work with, across the NTC program a few years back and was very supportive with the Junior Matildas with Rae (Dower) and it was great to link up with him again at Moreton Bay.”

That success caught the eye of Adelaide United where she spent last season, playing in 8 matches for the Reds including one start in February against Wellington.

Beaumont returned to her junior club for the 2022 NPL season and is looking forward to joining forces with fellow Roar signing Sharn Freier when the two don the orange of the Brisbane Roar.

“It’s great. We played together growing up and even with (Sharn’s sister) Laini, we all link up well, and it’s so exciting getting to play with her again!”

Beaumont will also be reunited with another familiar face at the Roar with Liberty A-League Head Coach Garrath McPherson, who coached Beaumont at the Future Matildas and QAS, excited to see what she will bring to the table.

“Georgia is a local NTC product who has come home following a season in South Australia. She is a young striker with great potential who has returned to Brisbane with a greater focus to impact the Liberty A-League this coming season,” McPherson said.

“Fans wanting an early preview of her qualities can watch her in our local NPL Women’s competition each weekend for Moreton Bay.”
