Brisbane Roar welcomes confirmation that a free public live site will run at South Bank for the FIFA World Cup, a project the Club first brought forward and championed in conversations with Brisbane City Council.
The South Bank Cultural Forecourt will become Brisbane’s central viewing venue for the tournament, hosting free screenings of all three Socceroos group stage matches across 14, 20 and 26 June, along with selected fixtures featuring Germany, Brazil and the Netherlands. Entry is free, with the site set up for fans, families and visitors to gather riverside and watch the action on the big screen in the heart of the city. It will be Brisbane’s first major men’s FIFA World Cup fan site since 2022, with the Socceroos opening their Group D campaign against Türkiye on Sunday 14 June ahead of matches against the USA and Paraguay.

The Club has long believed Brisbane deserved a central gathering place for football’s biggest moments, and put the idea of a city live site to Council as a way to bring the community together during the tournament.
Brisbane Roar thanks the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency and South Bank Corporation for backing the project and bringing it to life. Delivering a free, accessible live site of this scale takes genuine partnership, and the Club is grateful for the work that has gone into making it happen for the Brisbane community.
The World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July across the United States, Canada and Mexico, with Australia among the 48 nations competing. With the live site confirmed, Brisbane Roar is encouraging fans to head to South Bank, get behind the Socceroos and feel the energy of a World Cup summer on home soil.
