Brisbane Roar are delighted to welcome experienced defender Tate Russell to the club on a two-year deal ahead of the 26/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The 26-year-old made his A-League debut for Western Sydney Wanderers in 2018, going on to make 85 appearances and score five goals across five seasons with the club, before joining Western United ahead of the 24/25 season, where he played 27 matches and scored one goal.
Russell then signed for NPL New South Wales side Wollongong Wolves ahead of the 2025 Australian Championship, where he contributed to the club’s success with his pace, defensive awareness and ability to threaten in attack.
“I’m excited to have signed with the Roar and ready to get started,” Russell said.
“Brisbane is a club with a great history, and the fans have produced some of the best atmospheres this league has seen.
“I want to help the team in any way I can, to get the Roar back where they belong, at the top.”
Russell will wear the No. 13 jersey for the 26/27 campaign.
