Brisbane Roar is delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old centre-back Aaron Reardon for the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Reardon will be making his return to the club after being part of the Roar NPL QLD side managing 53 appearances and scoring five goals. He signed a professional contract with the Senior team in 2018, before making his A-League debut in January 2019 in a 2-2 draw against the Newcastle Jets.
The centre-back then moved between the Gold Coast Knights in NPL QLD, Port Melbourne Soccer Club in NPL Victoria, and Dhaka Mohammedan in the Bangladesh Premier League.
Coming back for his second stint with the Roar, Reardon is hoping to build on the experience he has gained through his career thus far and learn from teammates Scott Neville and Tom Aldred.
The signing of Reardon contributes to the club’s new way forward in nurturing and developing young talent from Queensland’s local competition as he joins from the Knights.
Reardon looks forward to returning to the A-League and is grateful for the opportunity to work under Head Coach Ross Aloisi for an exciting season ahead.
“I’m extremely excited to be back at the Roar. I’ve been in the NPL for a couple of years now and overseas in Bangladesh, so I’ve really worked hard to get back in the A-League,” Reardon said.
“I’m really thankful for the coaching staff here, Ross and Luciano, for having faith in me and bringing me back in,” he added.
“I’m looking forward to getting back out with the boys and having a good season, getting fit and showing what I can do this year. Ross has been in Japan, and he’s got a lot of knowledge so I’m really looking forward to working under him.”
