LIBERTY A-LEAGUE WOMEN MATCH REVIEW OUTCOME: HOLLY MCQUEEN

Football Australia has today confirmed that the red card Holly McQueen received during Unite Round’s match against Newcastle has been expunged from McQueen’s record.

The independent MRP considered an Obvious Error application made by Brisbane Roar FC in relation to an incident in or around the 61st minute of Brisbane’s Liberty A-League Women match against Newcastle jetsFC on Saturday, 13 January 2024, in which Holly McQueen received a direct Red Card for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

In accordance with the Regulations, the MRP has the authority to consider an Obvious Error application submitted by McQueen on the basis that there was no obvious goal scoring opportunity.

The MRP unanimously allowed the application. As such, the Red Card has been expunged from McOueen’srecord, and she will not be required to serve the Mandatory Match Suspension of one (l) match.

McQueen will be available for selection for Brisbane’s Liberty A-League Women match against Perth Glory on Saturday, 20 January 2024.
