Brisbane Roar Football Club is pleased to confirm the re-signing of Costa Rican striker Jean Carlos Solorzano on a two-year deal, ommitting him to the Queensland club until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Solorzano, known as “Nico” to his teammates, re-joined the Roar on a short-term contract in January following stints with Melbourne Victory and Costa Rican club Puntarenas.

Prior to that, he played a key role in the club-s successful 2010/11 campaign, making 25 appearances and scoring 11 goals as Brisbane Roar clinched their first Hyundai A-League Premiership and Championship double.

Head Coach Mike Mulvey was delighted to have Solorzano pledge his future to the club, impressed with the 26-year-old-s commitment since coming back to Australia.

“Nico has shown loyalty, professionalism and a hunger for more success here in Brisbane,” he said.

“He-s worked extremely hard at training and I-m looking forward to seeing his contributions next season with a full pre-season under his belt.

“Nico considers Brisbane home now and we-re pleased he-s decided to stay with the club.”

Solorzano and his teammates are currently on their off-season break and are due to return to pre-season training at the end of June.
