Norrie honoured to hit 100 ALW Matches

Liberty A-League Women’s Captain Ayesha Norrie will hit 100 A-League Women matches this Saturday against Canberra United at Perry Park.

Norrie made her top-flight debut as a 16-year-old in November 2013 for Brisbane Roar, and now hits the 100-game milestone in her third year as captain at the club where her career began.

“It’s pretty special, I started here so to hit this milestone with the club and with this bunch is pretty special,” Norrie said.

With the last game of the 2023/24 Liberty A-League approaching this Saturday, Norrie extends a heartfelt thanks to all Roar fans for their continuous support this season.

“A huge thank you for the season, we’ve endured a lot this season and I think it’s a testament to the fans that come out each and every week at home, so we love the support.”

The Captain anticipates a good challenge from Canberra United after they defeated last season’s Champions Sydney FC on Wednesday afternoon.

“The feeling is good, positive! We’ve had a few wins now so just looking to do that again against Canberra.”

“They’re a good squad, they’ve had a few wins in the last few games so they’re going to come out firing, but we just have to match that and play our game and have full confidence.”
