Queensland defender Holly McQueen re-signs with Brisbane Roar

The club is pleased to announce the re-signing of Queensland defender Holly McQueen for the 2024/25 A-League Women season.

Brisbane-born, 21-year-old signed her first professional contract with the Roar late in the 2020/21 season following the departure of Matilda Clare Polkinghorne. After training with the club all year, McQueen was unfortunately unable to play in that campaign due to acquiring an ACL injury.

After working through her rehabilitation program, McQueen bounced back for the 2022/23 A-League Women season as she worked to keep improving and developing as a player.

McQueen was an integral part of the 2023/24 campaign at both right back and centre back, making 45 clearances, 9 blocks and 38 interceptions, and will look to continue this form for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

The Queensland talent is excited to play another season for her hometown club.

“It’s always an honour to put on the Brisbane Roar jersey and to be able to play in front of my friends and family makes it extra special,” McQueen said.
